Two places where you should focus on getting reviews are your business’s Facebook page and Google My Business page. These are big ones. Many people turn to social media to see what their friends and family think about a business, so having good reviews on your business’s Facebook page can help to draw in prospective customers. Getting positive reviews on your Google My Business page is crucial because these reviews show up on Google when someone searches for your business.
That really depends on the business. If you are people a lot of money and not bringing results then you will lose clients. So honestly, you must have a process that works at a competitive price if you really want to make money.
SEO consulting professionals provide organic search engine optimizing tactics and improve a website from a virtual unknown to page one ranking. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. When people look forward to information regarding products or services on the web, they mostly use search engines. Google, Bing, Yahoo etc are some of the popular search engines people use.
Why does the industry have such a huge public perception problem? I think the reason so many here hesitate is that there are a lot – a LOT – of bad SEOs out there. The former clients of those who don’t quite know what they’re doing or who are simply unscrupulous then “learn” that SEO is an industry of snake oil, sleight of hand and scam artists and they make sure everyone within earshot knows it. That’s what gets reported in the media. Hell, there was some cop/legal procedural TV show recently that perpetuated the scam artist stereotype when the defendant, an SEO, worried about the jury being prejudiced against him because of his job.
Majestic is a link database with indexed URLs from all over the internet. Majestic updates its database daily so you’re constantly looking at the most up-to-date data. It also prioritizes backlinked sites so you can get information on your own site as well as that of your competitors. It provides info on where your links are coming from, how powerful each link is, a detailed anchor text profile of each link and which content on your site is getting links.
This is more of an open question to everyone – does anyone know of a more up-to-date version of the Jim Boykin table Neil linked to in the 2nd paragraph beneath “Be Results Driven” for click rate for top 10 search results? I’d love to use this strategy but I imagine these figures are much different nowadays.
I chose to specialize in WordPress SEO since phrases like WordPress SEO Services and WordPress SEO Audit are less competitive but still being searched for (enough that I got 5 inquiries/day on my website).
This similarity in the contents can lead to the lowering of the ranks of the website. In case the website has wrong name and contact number, it can cause a lot of issues in them. But this misconception has to be eradicated as soon as possible.
Great post – really goes to show three things. 1) You can find a great business idea from anywhere as long as you keep your eyes open. 2) That hard work really does pay off over time, and 3) we, as small business owners, can learn anything we set our minds too. Great post.
So if you are going to get and keep your clients loyal, then you must do a good job educating them about the importance / benefits of SEO to their business. You will also need to teach them how to measure their SEO results and growth. Thereby making them understand what you are doing and appreciate your efforts. However, this will cost you not just money but also time.
Clients only care about results. You can provide all the reports on all the great services you provided, but if they are not getting new customers then it is only a matter of time before they leave you.
The problem is that self-employment, especially if you’ve worked in the corporate world before, has all the allure of the pipe dreams sold in The 4 Hour Work Week (I guess Tim Ferris doesn’t count self-promotion as work, even though he does it about 100 hours a week 🙂 ).
Whitespark’s citation intake and reports are non-branded so if you upsell this to clients, they probably won’t know you outsourced this. They also offer a citation clean-up service if they’re a complete mess.
Nice…I do see so much opportunity for people to become specialist in specific areas….since each year there are so many new aspects of what Internet Marketing as a whole is made up of (where are your buyers?…find out where, and be there too…), that there is always new opportunity to become a specialist in one particular field of internet marketing…
What creating any SEO business, it’s vital that you start with developing your personal brand. The first thing I would recommend is to decide who you want to be in this industry and how you want to differentiate yourself.
