As you are done with learning SEO, now it’s time for the site. This is the crucial step in setting up an SEO business, as everyone will first have a look at your website, there is no way that clients will come to you directly and give the projects to you.

It’s a conclusion based on analytics and years of obsessive studying and experience.

Don’t get me wrong, this takes a lot of hard work to do, but essentially you only need to know the basics of SEO to get started. There are lots of sites online that you can learn how to do this (OnlineIncomeTeacher is a good place to start!), but once you learn, you can begin to turn it into a business.

Don’t worry; it’s not difficult to do either. It takes a lot of work Troy, but as you develop your skills and talents, you can begin to outsource a few things here and there to a virtual assistant. Spend time focusing ON your business in addition to IN your business

Now, this is not to say that you shouldn’t promote / establish yourself online, just saying that even though this is a great long-term objective, it’s a generally poor and unreliable strategy to claim market share when you’re just starting out.

Starting an SEO agency from scratch is probably the most difficult.  The startup costs are pretty low, because all you really need is a website and a way to fulfill services.  Setting up is easy, but getting clients is tough.  Trying to get organic visibility for SEO services will be tough because you will be competing with SEO agencies that have been doing it for years.  These agencies will have a track record, organic rankings and testimonials.

This is not for the faint of heart and comes with all types of stress points. It is highly rewarding to work for yourself and succeed in an innovative market — I believe the Pro’s outweigh the Con’s — but each person is unique and you need to be certain this is right for you. Go the part-time, side job approach at first to make sure you are mentally, physically & financially ready to fly solo and start your own SEO business. Good luck if you take the plunge!
