There are two categories to this. The first being the category that takes in the name, address and contact number option. In this category, there need not be any changes because variation at this level can create disturbances that can be sometimes misread by Google. The other category is the one that uses the concept of putting the task on Google to decide whether it is a proper site or not. Local SEO works in the category that does not have any variation and has same types of arrangement everywhere.
NOW YOU NEED SOME PLANT AND MACHINERY – SEO software is your biggest investment and your next huge step on how to start an SEO business. Make sure that you research the shit out of google before you choose the best software suitable for you.
Taking a step back, you’re enterprise content plan for the example used above might look something like this. At each stage, there are paid, social graph, or syndication options that go beyond traditional SEO and can work synergistically.
SEO has become awash in “consultants” who want to provide everything from keyword research (which can now be sourced through fiverr ::barf:: to enterprise content marketing and link building) all of which is delivered as complete shit that provides ZERO value and doesn’t move the needle.
Compared to standard SEO campaigns, local SEO relies much more on links from other local websites that are really relevant to your business. It’s less about getting links from high authority websites (although that obviously helps) and more about getting links from websites local to you that are talking about similar things to what you do.
Search engines are geo-locating results more and more – not just the local results block but the core web results as well. This means you need to make your content as locally relevant as possible and to make it work great on mobile devices (where a ton of local searching is done).

Quite a few people have asked me how to raise capital to start a new business. My response is always, “what for?” They usually have a blank look on their face when I ask that. The reason they often look perplexed is that most people just think you need to raise capital to start a business. We refer to those people as “wantrepreneurs”, not entrepreneurs. Don’t fall for this excuse.
Thank you Neil, this post is full of nuggets! We will take what we are not doing now and change. One question, what’s your advice on agreements with Clients? Is 30 day, mth to mth good? On one hand you don’t want to make people feel trapped and on the other you don’t want them to quit on a whim without at least being with you for 6-12mths. Is the industry standard of 1-2yr good enough? What’s a good balance between sustainable revenue for agency, and good commitment & partnership between an agency and a Client?
The two brothers, Google and Facebook, are also limiting useful information that SEO’s use to create their strategies (e.g. Keywords: Not Provided or Google Keyword Planner doesn’t show phrase match data anymore, etc).
Thank you for the comment and that’s awesome to hear! YES, do not waste your time with those clients. Your business should make you happy and you should want to get up and work on it everyday. If any client is making you feel otherwise, then they definitely need to be “SACKED” lol
