At the end of the night your friend is really happy because he has sold all his paintings and the whole exhibition was a huge success. Your very happy for him, but you end up walking home feeling a little deflated and unhappy. Why can’t you follow in your friends footsteps and leave your job to follow your own passions.
Before picking a category, try it out in a Google search. Does it return local results? If not, you probably don’t want to include that as one of your categories on your Google My Business and Bing Places profile.
If you do some research, you can find so many website owners ready to provide a guest post link on their blog in just $5. There are many others who can provide manual social bookmark links or other quality links for $5.
Really great post. I am currently in the process of structuring my SEO Digital Agency name Fancy Apples Digital Agency. However, I am stuck on a few things, such as how to register the name of the company, Corp S, LLC, ect? If possible i would love to get your expertise on structuring my business to see which works well for a SEO AGENCY. Thank you I appreciate your time.
In my 10 years running an agency, the About Us page was the number one most visited page for us and all our service clients. Nothing else came close, not even our pages that showed previous work and case studies.
Create a local resource from public data (here’s 30 different data sources) and reach out to local press to get coverage. That’s exactly what Krystian Szastok did and he got some amazing results (you really should read this case study).
Hint: I started to engage with a community of WAHM (Work At Home Moms). I offered them help and in two cases, I actually gave them help for free. Today they write for Huffington Post and have their blogs successful.
It’s also important to get your business’s name, address and phone number (NAP) on the major citation data aggregators like Infogroup, Neustar (aka Localeze), Acxiom and Factual. Always make sure that your company’s NAP is consistent on as many of these directories and citation sites as possible. Discrepancies like misspellings, abbreviations, lack of suite number and wrong phone number can create havoc when Google can’t determine which information about your business is correct. If Google’s not sure, they may display incorrect information — or not show your business at all in search results.
There would be always something more to learn, no matter how much you read, talk, listen and learn about SEO. It’s a fast evolving process, if someone doesn’t keep up with the pace, would surely lag behind.
It is simply a numbers game, if you are using the correct script and dialling enough numbers per day, there’s absolutely no doubt you will be able to set appointments. The main reason people lose faith in cold calling is because they give up too early, you have to be ready to dig in for the long haul with cold calling, if you do, it can reward you handsomely!
Knowing how to set up a structure for your business might seem basic; “I’m going to start an SEO business because I know SEO”. However, there are things to consider that are involved with your business.
This is a great post, it gives me something to strive towards. I’m still starting out, I know how to rank websites well with SEO, but up until now I’ve ranked mainly personal websites so I don’t have any testimonials other than my own. Based on what other companies do for SEO, I know what I do is top tier, but it’s difficult to get top tier clients without past clients. Any suggestions?
Cathie, sounds like you have a great problem to have. I would say reaching out to other industry leaders to see what works and what doesn’t. More often than not you can find this information on their website or blog.
The SEO franchise model may be cost prohibitive, but an SEO licensing model can be a great fit for many consultants and web design agencies. Look for SEO business licensing opportunities that include some type of lead generation service. A proven SEO brand will attract leads and some may offer affordable lead generation services.
My work for STDcheck’s website, started wheen the site’s SEO was in the very beginning stages and, while there were quantifiable results in those early days, I’m still coming up with new strategies two years later.
Create an online venue where you can promote your products and services, share information on the industry, and establish your authority as an SEO provider. If you don’t have a website yet, we can help you create one that is catchy, navigable, and search engine-friendly. If you already have one, we can audit your site and help you optimize it, both for the web and for your targeted niche.
Never short change yourself. Believe in the quality of the service you can offer and stand by your pricing structure. Your customers will appreciate your service and what they pay when they start to see the results.
You’ll also want to optimize your site for local keywords over more competitive and broad-stroking keywords to rank better in local search results and is something you can accomplish through basic keyword research. For example, “book store Toronto” over just “book store.”
The best way to get companies to pay you six figures is to give away the farm. Within your proposals, you should have one section that breaks down everything the company is doing wrong, how they can fix it, and what it would cost for you to fix it.
The importance of Good Contents: Today it is very important to have well-written contents on the specified topics that would give proper details of everything. So it is important for the writers to put up everything in easy language so that the world today, which relies on the Google-speak option, understands everything at a single time.
I know this goes without saying… the best clients you will ever get as an agency is from previous customers, friends, or even family members. When someone refers to you, chances of you closing that deal are really high.
Of course, it goes without saying that one should never compromise on the work quality in order to build client relations, however, how do find that fine balance between finding inexpensive resources who might turn in a great quality work as well?
There may be a lack of any specific qualifications so there is seemingly a low barrier to entry – you can’t do a PHD in search engine optimisation and even if you could it would be horribly out of date by the time you had finished it.
Standing Order (UK): You can set up a standing order to automatically bill your clients every month. I’m sure you can also do this in the US/Canada/Australia/New Zealand/rest of the world too but it may be called something different.
“Research shows that 82% of new customers research a business online before making a purchase decision. Do you know where your business is in the Google rankings for your targeted keywords?” – This stat brings home just how important it is for the business to be prominent in the search engines. It also shows the prospective client that you have done your homework and know what you’re doing which will go some way to help you increase your authority figure status in the industry. You can enlighten the business owner with a printout of exactly where they currently rank for all the keywords you have researched for them by using the ranking tracker tool in Market Samurai or SEO Power Suite.
Start any negotiation by letting the customer state what they want. then you state what you want. If you both agree, great! Win-win. Chances are, however, agree on some points, and disagree on others. Fine. Those points you agree on are put off to one side, and you’re focus on trying to find win-win positions on the points you disagree with. Keep going until you find a package that both meets you needs.
