While by no means an exhaustive list, I think if SEO newbies can master these three areas, they will be well on their way to success in search engine optimization and many other disciplines in the digital marketing industry.
Many of us in the industry are fighting to legitimize what we do. So when someone says “Hey, I have no experience and have no clue what I’m doing, but I’m just going to jump in and start an SEO business anyway,” we’re understandably wary of encouraging anyone to jump in and make that job even harder for us.
I’ve generated thousands of dollars offering local SEO and web design to businesses over the years and this is my way of helping those that might be out there struggling to land that very first client.
Email Marketing… is by far the most cost-effective solution to this problem, so flex some brains and come up with an offer that will let your business stand out from the crowd. Your average client is very busy and cares about nothing but ROI, period. Short and sweet is the best way to go… if you can’t inbox well, better find somebody who can.
At the bottom of the keyword list I also create a ‘Total’ line in bold which is the combined monthly search volume of all the keywords. This gives the business owner a potential number of people they could be exposed to per month should they get to number 1 for all the keywords you propose.
Sure I can advertise other places…but I can’t reach Google’s customers there. As an individual I can choose to use another search engine, but as a business I cannot magically make potential customers do the same. I HAVE to use Google or give up a huge market share.
I have done most of these mistakes in the past, so I can definitely relate to you. Now, in my second start up I hope to avoid the vast majority of them. The single most important advice: learn to fire your clients or never get them onboard at the first place.
To better explain all of the above and how you can use such methods to increase traffic on your own site let’s cover the many components that go into a great marketing and branding plan to grow a website or blog. Not only will content creation come into play, it’s also how much effort you put into your content promotion as well.
Would like to put a bug in your ear about providing MySEOAuditor.com users with the ability to “switch” between customized report themes within MySEOAuditor.com for at least running manual reports from the backend. This small “custom theme switcher” would be a great addition to your current custom profile feature and would be SUPER DUPER handy for SEOs who perform white-label SEO work for other agencies regularly in addition to our own freelance SEO work or SEO / Online Marketing Businesses… Being able to switch between “customized report profiles” would save me a TON of time, hassle and headache personally! At the moment, I’m having to cut and paste in “customized” profiles setups (which I’ve saved into Evernote to at least save me a little time), since i have to go through these paces every or every other time I run a new manual report. Oi! It would be absolutely amazing to just be able to quickly switch report branding from one agency profile setting to another that I perform white-label SEO work for when I want to quickly run a manual report for a new client prospect. So, how about it? Pretty, pretty pixel please? Hehe!
I am sharing this tutorial for computer Engineering students because starting a SEO consulting business is an excellent option for Computer Software Engineers. One of my friends started this business around 2 years ago and rite now he is earning a handsome amount plus he has quite big staff working under him. So, if you understand the basics behind SEO then you can also do the same. Now I am gonna briefly explain some steps which are essential for starting a SEO Consulting Business:
Why does the industry have such a huge public perception problem? I think the reason so many here hesitate is that there are a lot – a LOT – of bad SEOs out there. The former clients of those who don’t quite know what they’re doing or who are simply unscrupulous then “learn” that SEO is an industry of snake oil, sleight of hand and scam artists and they make sure everyone within earshot knows it. That’s what gets reported in the media. Hell, there was some cop/legal procedural TV show recently that perpetuated the scam artist stereotype when the defendant, an SEO, worried about the jury being prejudiced against him because of his job.
Please tell me you see the irony of finding an article about ‘how to do SEO’ ranking highly for the keywords “how to do SEO”, then complaining about the authority of the source creating and sharing that information.
Be specific. If your reward is monetary, set a measurable goal i.e. I want to make $X per month in the first year, $X per month in the second, and $X per month in the third. Being specific about measurable goals will help you construct a viable business plan, which I’ll cover shortly.
You can make your business cards stand out a bit from the usual business card and include a QR code on the back of it. When the person then scans the QR code with their smart phone, you can set it to either take them to your website or ring your phone number.

One emerging element of technical SEO is the creation of open data sets or APIs. If your business will thrive by getting your inventory or content into as many places as possible, consider creating data feeds or APIs for third-party developers to use.
And if you are stupid enough to expect someone to write and frequently update an entire business plan for you publicly FOR FREE & guarantee success with it, let me know if there is some market to bet against you, as I will gladly make that wager all day long.
In addition, another key component which you’ve also heard many times before is the importance of having a mobile-optimized site. What’s the point of increasing your rankings in local search results when your website isn’t accessible on-the-go, when users and potential customers actually need to access information. In fact, 73% of mobile search triggers additional action and conversion like:
Stop looking for loopholes and strategies to beat the Google. The algorithm changes too quickly to capitalize on loopholes. You’re much better off creating good long-term value for your clients. Play for the long term by providing value and focusing on user experience above all else.
