Editing all of those directories can be time consuming, especially when you’re trying to run a business! Check out Vistaprint’s Local Listings service, which makes it very easy to submit your NAP data to directory data aggregators. It will also highlight where incorrect NAP data exists and correct it for you, all in one click!
That’s more than enough promotional methods to get you up and running, even using a couple of the Power Leads Pro X methods alone should bring you in a steady stream of leads. It’s time to move on to how you should prepare yourself once your promotional methods have paid off and you start arranging meetings with potential clients…
I love this because it is so simple. That’s it! These three steps and progress is made. I have been thinking way too long about creating my SEO business. I just need to dive in and get started. I know what I need to do and now I’ll just do it! Thanks!
This is where niche identification is important. If you have clearly identified a niche in which there isn’t a great deal of competition, you have a clearly articulated unique selling point and you know what buyers want, then your position in negotiation is stronger. This is why it’s important to have addressed these aspects in your business plan. Failure to do so means you’re very vulnerable on price, because if you’re up against very similar competitors, then your last resort is to undercut them.
Positive reviews work in favour of local sites, when it comes to their ranking. However, try to avoid a too rapid reviews overflow since Google might find this suspicious. Also, it is important that reviews come from the accounts that are active.
I’ve been running some similar experiments over the past few months and found that it does earn some short-term wins, but CTR has to be consistently high to ensure that rankings will stabilize. You also need to reduce bounces from search, as this is negative signal to Google.
Social signals. Set up as many social accounts as possible. Provide useful content, gain followers and link social accounts to your site. Make sure your website has your local keywords in your content.
Another great post. I am a customer of your Quick Sprout product which i purchased a while back which i found very usefull in my day to day dealings. One thing i am struggling with at the moment is producing a step by step plan that will allow me to fully analyse a clients website and SEO position top to bottom including their top competitors links etc and then present these findings to them with our quote. It seems i need tons of different products to do this. Do you have any tips on how we can do this without spending so much time and tools to make it happen? I always provide upfront in depth detail about what we do for a clients site but always looking to improve. Thanks in advance. Bill
“SEO has the highest long term ROI of any form of marketing.” – This is something I say which some people may not agree with but here’s why I think it’s true; When SEO is done properly and ethically, and you achieve top ranking results across targeted keywords with good search volume, these rankings then have the potential to stay there (without any additional optimisation required) potentially for YEARS to come. I don’t know of any other form of marketing that can keep on returning that sort of value consistently, day after day, years after you have stopped paying for it. This again is a good thing to follow up with after you make this statement to the client as every business owner will be delighted with the prospect of still receiving traffic/leads/clients long after they have paid for the SEO services.
My personal preference is to keep my team small and service a limited number of clients, well, because I want to work on more of my own stuff (and family stuff) rather than put more time into building a bigger team and managing them.
As we outlined in the book SEO for Growth, there is nothing really hard about SEO. You just need to treat your website as an investment, make sure your site is fully integrated with all of your digital channels and marketing activities, and have the discipline to make content marketing and SEO part of your daily routine. In other words, set up your web presence and commit to SEO for the long haul.
When you are considering the different aspects of SEO remember it’s an integrated framework that uses a high end content strategy to establish your authority; social networks will gain traction for your promotion with smart implementation; and focus on earning those links to build long-term equity with your readers and search engines.
