I’ve been reading SEO research for 12 years as I have been an SEO consultant for that long. It’s very rare that someone actually tells you their methods for getting clients. Wish I had read this 12 years ago.
Once you hit that growth stage, what really matters is making success repeatable. This means blogging with consistency, meeting new agencies to partner with consistently, and following up with existing customers to gain an understanding of their satisfaction consistently too. It sure takes a lot of work but if you love what you do (and I definitely do) it pays off in spades.
Am only a beginner to all this and I love reading your guides and I find what do you is amazing and its really inspiring to me and because of you I am really decided to this. Sometimes I do feel like am seeing no results and sometime I give up thinking I can’t do this at all maybe it’s because am not making enough back-links? (just spam my way to the top?). To be honest I have no idea what am doing half of time and in time I will eventually figure it out. Anything that I read I can’t process it, there’s so much you’ve written and I only remember the basics.

Quite a bit can be gleaned by seeing an experienced account manager deal with various aspects including: pushing back the on deadlines, communicating with clients, coordinating with various departments within the agency and meetings.

What I started doing was estimating how much more traffic could drive to the companies. I would take their current rankings and use the multiplier from this table. So, if they ranked #6 for a keyword that drove them 1,000 visitors a month and I thought I could take them to #1, I would estimate that I could drive them 10,400 visitors, which is 9,400 extra visitors than they currently have.
You need to understand what On Page and Off Page SEO is and the techniques needed to make them work. You also need to know how to carry out a competitive analysis, do keyword research, get quality links and perform a proper SEO audit.

In light of all the recent hubbub about JC Penney, David at Distilled wrote up a great post asking whether competitors can use spammy links to harm your site. He explains how to find shady links and get them removed.
I personally recommend you to not implement or practice SEO only on client sites but also create your own site, build links, rank your keywords higher, attract huge traffic and try to implement all new strategies that strike your mind. As you learn what works for your blog or website you will help others in better way with their SEO.
